Benefits of Spay/Neuter
At the risk of sounding like Bob Barker, please spay or neuter your pets. There are so many pets available for adoption that need loving, caring homes. You can do your part to help keep the number of homeless pets down by spaying or neutering your pet. In addition, spaying and neutering helps to reduce the risk of potential health problems.
Benefits of a Leash
Please keep your dog on a leash, or in a fenced-in yard, or keep your pet in your care at all times. Dogs cannot reason like humans! They can wander into the street or road simply by getting a scent. They are not aware of the dangers of traffic, being attacked by other animals, etc. etc. They really do depend on us for their safety and well-being. It is very tragic when a pet is lost due to ignorance on the part of the pet's owner. They are like innocent children - you wouldn't allow your child to play in the middle of the street, would you? Most states have leash laws in place - but many people ignore them! Please protect your pet by keeping him or her on a leash or in a fenced-in yard.
Do Your Homework Before You Adopt
Many people adopt pets without fully knowing what is required. Pets require healthy food, adequate exercise, proper veterinary care, and a loving family who will spend time with them. There are many available resources for information, including the Internet, library, local pet shelter, current pet owners, etc. etc. There is no excuse to not know!
Help Stop Puppy Mills!
Please help stop greedy breeders who operate puppy mills for the sole purpose of making a dollar! Dogs are beloved angels who do not deserve the treatment that these inhumane people inflict on them for the sake of making money. You can help stop these evil people by not purchasing your puppy from a pet store or at pet shops over the Internet. Be sure to purchase only from a reputable breeder! Check out this link to Marilyn's Voice for a great informational site on how you can help stop these evil breeders who care nothing about the animals they are producing.
